Seattle, Washington — May 3-5, 2019 |
Kalia Kliban Laura Mé Smith |
Kalia Kliban has been part of the California Bay Area traditional dance scene since the mid-eighties, performing and teaching in a wide range of styles. At dance camps and festivals across the country she has taught Morris, longsword, English and American clogging, English country dance and contra, and she's a regular contra and English caller in the vibrant Bay Area dance community. Her welcoming and relaxed teaching style has helped dancers of all levels experience the joy of traditional dance.
The ever gracious Laura Mé Smith leads dances with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of fun. She will help you keep the 'play' in Playford, and the sparkle in your partner's eyes. Claiming to have been calling English, contra, and square dancing 'since they invented dirt', she maintains her youthful zest (she's twenty-eight in base twenty-seven) through sharing the joy of dancing as often as she can.
Laurie Andres - Music Director. Laurie has been a musician and caller for over 35 years. He picks the perfect match of musicians for each workshop. We have the best musicians in the Northwest, and Laurie superbly combines them for your dancing pleasure. With this year's combination of caller, musicians, and sound engineer, your dancing experience will be unparalleled.
Frank Brown - Sound Engineer. Frank has been our exemplary sound engineer for the past five years. We are delighted that he is returning this year.
Location - Seattle Latvian Center, 11710 3rd Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125.
